Fall 2018 — "Meditation Stone" won Honorable Mention in the Randall Jarrell Poetry Contest; poem published in StorySouth.

 

2017 — "Seven Years On the Farm," a memoir, won the Alex Albright Creative Nonfiction Prize from North Carolina Literary Review, published summer of 2018.

 

2017 — "Ashe County Easter, 1880," a poem, won Page Crafters Prize from the On the Same Page Literary Festival.

 

Spring 2015 — "O Beautiful Bug," published by Jacar Press and distributed to members of the North Carolina General Assembly. Also published online at www.indyweek.com.

 

October 2014 — "O Beautiful Bug," a memoir, selected by Joseph Bathanti to be the recipient of the Linda Flowers Award, presented by the North Carolina Humanities Council.

August 2010 — Poetry chapbook, Naming the Constellations, published in Spring Street Editions' chapbook series.

 

2008 — Won the Poet Laureate Award from the N. C. Poetry Society for “Naming the Constellations,” which was published online and in Pinesong.
